89 325ix headlights out - fuse panel diagram?RMHayes1954 03-29-2008, 04:46 PM Headlights and Fog Lights stopped working. High beams still work. Does anyone have a wiring diagram and the fuse/relay panel layout? Turning high beams on/off causes a click from one of the relays in the fuse panel as high beams come on/off, but plain headlights do not cause a click. No fuses are blown in the panel. Fog light indicator on dashboard also stopped illuminating at same time, and fog lights don't work. Need suggestions, wiring diagram, fuse panel layout diagram. RMHayes1954 03-31-2008, 07:09 AM NOTE from RMHayes1954: Found the problem - I have the Haynes manual for this car but it does not include basic wiring diagram or a diagram of the fuse panel! In fuse panel, top left 2 fuses are Left and Right highbeams. 1 fuse in from top right is low beams. Both 5 pin relays (top row, two right-most relays) are headlights. Far right relay is an 87-87B (both contacts normally open). Next to it is 87-87A (87A Normally Closed, 87 Normally Open). In my case (low beams and fogs out, high beams working) the 87-87B relay had failed. You cannot replace it with an 87-87A (Autozone MR76 relay) and Autozone does not stock an 87-87B. At the same time, one low beam had failed. Don't know if relay/bulb failure was cause or effect or unrelated. A painful and wet weekend. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
