Hey I have a wierd problem. My dad replaced the rear brakes but now the handbrake catches at the very last tooth. It was the similar before the pads where replaced. Through use the handbrake started catching later and later. However now that we put new ones in it still catches at the last one. Now we had the car up and looked for bolts like on my 95 cavalier, under the car, but the cables go meet in the middle then go under the console. We removed the console but could not find anything :screwy: The cable just comes out from the bottom and it just connects to the handbrake.

So long story short how do I adjust the handbrake to catch earlier? Where is the bolt that you can tighten or is there another method to do it for this particular year of the cavalier. Thanks

There isn't an adjustment for the hand brake, you do it at the shoes. Daddy should have used the star adjuster on the drums so that when he put the drums back on the shoes were rubbing slightly on the drums.
