Plugs and Cables

Good day All.
1. How do I (pull violently?) the plug cables off the 4.3 Vortec FI? (some have hex-shaped boots)

2. I plan to fit Pulstar plugs - any comments?

Gently twist and pull simultaneously. Use silicone dielectric grease in the boot when re-installing to prevent that next time.

Use AC Delco plugs ONLY! 4.3L's are very fussy!

Canadian Tire says the OEMs are 'Coil on plug' and want $200 to fit my new ones (the guy looked like he didn't know too much?). There is a strange hex rubber boot on some of the plugs? (It is a 2005 model)

Due to the price of gas I have already purchased the Pulstar plugs ($150) so, unless I am going to damage something, I wish to proceed.

The 4.3L plug wires run from the distributor cap to the plugs, only one ignition coil. $50.00 MAX! Save yourself a LOT of money, and headaches, use the AC plugs that the engine was designed to use. You will not get better performance using anything else, the only "damage" will be to your wallet.

As Old master says stay with the Ac-Delco plugs the good Ac delco book calls for.

Anything else and you will have a lot of engine running problems that can led to engine or cat damage and is a big:nono: .
