stain on leatherciara_belle 03-24-2008, 07:22 PM We have a new avalon 2008 -- we (i) put a steering wheel cover from w-mart on it during the winter. About 6 months it was on. We removed it for the summer and discovered that there was a nasty yellow line from the vinyl edging of the cover... we tried leather cleaner and dish soap - no change. we can sand it off with a dremal but as you can guess we would rather not... any ideas how i can get this stain out of my husbands brand new car? thanks ka9mgd 04-05-2008, 01:50 PM :smooch: Have you tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser? This thing really does work wonders and they are inexpensive too..Let us know how you come out. khooper 04-11-2008, 03:09 AM Alcohol Method Very gently rub stained area with a clean white towel using rubbing alcohol/surgical spirit. Be gentle, as this will quickly take off the stain and the surface finish of the leather. Let dry completely. If you notice that the glossy shine has gone away, rub in some leather shoe polish. Buff it and you should restore the leather to its previous condition. Vaseline Method Put a generous amount of Vaseline on the spot. Take a cloth and spray it with hairspray. Rub the cloth gently on the ink spot. Nail Polish Remover Method Dab some non-acetone nail polish remover onto a piece of paper towel or tissue. Rub lightly onto the ink stain. The ink will disappear immediately. Wipe clean with wet cloth. Rub dry with towel. ________________ OEM (http://www.racepages.com/replacement/) | DC HEADER (http://www.racepages.com/brand/dc_sports.html) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
