i was wondering if there was any way to up the suspension on my truck. it rides like a skate board going down a rocky mountain. i like the way the new trucks ride and was wondering if i could make my truck ride like that

Not really. My truck's the same way, being the 8900 GVRW version 2500. You can lift the truck and put lighter duty springs on it bringing it back down to stock height, but giving a much smoother ride. That would also reduce the weight capacity of the truck.

what is your definition of lifting the truck?

Well to "lift" a truck, you can do it many different ways depending on the reason you want to lift it. If you want more height and spring travel, adding a leaf to the back and tightening the torsion bars will do you good, but that will also give you more weight capacity and stiffen up your ride. If you just want heigh for cosmetics, then block spacers, or a body lift will to the trick. What I suggested I've seen done only once and that was to put in blocks to lift up truck, then the torsion bars were loosened and the springs were replaced with lighter duty springs. Because of the weaker spring pressure the truck sank back down to the height it was before it was lifted so it looked stock, but had the suspension as soft as a light duty 2wd 1500. It did ride a bunch nicer after that, but when he want to load his ATV in the back, boy did it sag!

Well what's the size or GVRW of the truck? Theres two GVRW for each series: 1500, 2500, & 3500.
