My daughters car has developed a very frustrating problem. We replaced lights, checked light sockets and headlight fuses - all looks okay but cannot fix the symptoms listed below - can someone help with some ideas

Daytime Running Light indicator flashing and:
daytime lights (high beams) not working
Night time lights turned on the following occurs:

Driver side:
low beam on at normal intensity
high beam on but very dim.
Passenger side:

low and high beams on at same time but both very dim
If I unplug passenger side low or high beam lights all headlights go out.
If we put high beams on:

drivers side high beam comes on at normal intensity
drivers side low beam very dim
passenger side headlights

low & high beams both very dim.

Honestly, tear the whole headlight wiring harness out of the car, remove all the wire loom and inspect every inch of it for corroded or broken wires.

This has been a frequent issue coming up across this forum, and everyone seems to be finding that the issue is lying withing corroded wires and breaks in the wires somewhere.

g'luck.

Thank you for your advice and time.

When you say tear out the whole headlight wiring harness and replace it , how far back does the harness go from the headlights and where does it stop?

The connector is right under the battery tray where it meets with the interior harness. It is also grounded right there as well, and one of those connections could be bad there as well. You don't have to replace it per say, just give it a REAL good look over for breaks in wires etc.
