My 87 Cherokee blows instrument panel fuse when turned on. Switch is OK. center console gear selector lights stay on all the time. Will go out when 30 amp 12 volt metal fuse or relay is pulled. Don't know what that 30 amp metal fuse operates and why center console light stays on. Please help

You can start by taking the center console apart and inspecting the harness for a rub thru to cause a grounding to the frame somehow. That is probable the cause for the light staying on and blowing a fuse.
