I'm going to replace my a/c compressor. Its down to an advance autoparts compressor or one from gmpartsdirect.com. How long would a compressor from the autoparts store last? Will it last more than a year? I don't really have a lot of money to spend but it gets very hot were I live and my a/c teacher will do it as a class project if I buy the parts, but school is almost out for the semester.

You will also need an accumulator & orifice/screen with the compressor for the warranty to be good on the compressor. Click Here (http://www.autoaironline.com/shop.html) for a good source on parts. Notice the new compressor is not much more than the rebuilt at Advanced! Good parts, fair price & quick delivery! Ckick Here (http://www.autoaironline.com/warranty.html) and read this, before replacing A/C componants! This is not an advertisement for this company, just sharing my personal experience with them.

I bought the a/c compressor. I plan to replace the compressor in the next two days. What is the best way to remove the compressor and what tools will I need to remove it? it doesn't look like an easy task.

I've replaced my a/c compressor. Now i need to know what size wrenches I need for the fittings and bolts to replace my orffice tube and accumulator. A response would be appreciated.

Update on my a/c: My a/c has been fixed for about a week now. It blows really cold like it did when I first got it. I found out the wrench sized to get the hoses loose, you need a 27&32mm wrench, for anyone who decides to do this in the future. I had to replace the condenser also since the old compressor decided to self destruct. There was metal shavings and material from the accumulator throughout the system. I got it flushed out. The real test is going to come in the summer ( I live in the south). I hope it holds up. Besides whats the point in having window tint if you have to let the windows down. :screwy:
