I have a 2002 cavalier that is having the exact problem as the user below. The wipers stop working with a buzzing noise and the headlights dim. When turning on the head lights the drivers door sounds like it is locking. This never seems to be happening when we take it in the mechanic and they are unable to find the cause. Any suggestions would be helpful. Steve

Yea retarted . Sounds as though there is a short. right ,well you just have to start following wires start checking grounding wires on block, body and switches. Example my jeep had window problems found the wires that ran through door from front of engine had broken could not see brake but knew that the wires always moved at that spot so kept digging and fixed that spliced the wires back. you need to find wire diagram and start chasing down the break the rubbed together wires loose or broke ground common circuit malfunction .IT does suck but you can do it or pay 100.00 dollars an hour for somone else to do it
