1997 Crown Victoria AT

Hello, the 1997 CV police edition that I am buying will only go into first and reverse. The car only has 89,000 miles on it. Any troubleshooting ideas will be greatly appreciated. I would drive it to the local Ford dealership that is about seven miles away but I do not want to drive it there in first gear. I know that it can be towed. I guess you know with gas prices where they are what kind of prices are charged for towing vehicles. Thanks, I am new here and anxious to get started with this forum.

Drivers side. Buy the chiltons and or the haynes for your car. You will need a n 8 or 10 mm wrench to change it. BUY THE FORD PART...NON OEM units are not usually sealed well and fail FAIL FAIL...
