I have a 1978 MGB and thinking about the Monroe rear shock conversion kit. Has anyone istalled one and does it improve the ride and handling of the car ?

Most people aren't happy with a tube shock conversion. Ride is too hard because the shocks aren't matched to the weight of the car.

Unless your building a race car, I would strongly advise to stay with the original shocks. There is nothing wrong with how they work! They are easy to have rebuilt or, rebuild yourself. The lever shock is adjustible if you want a stiffer ride by changing the valve but I have no idea why anyone would want to do this on a stock street MGB. V8 high horsepower conversions are more apt to demand rear end beafing up with different springs, shocks and traction bars etc. Even then, I would personally keep the original shocks.
