1999 dodge rt dakotawgazelda 03-18-2008, 07:27 PM :feedback: What makes a dodge jump in and out of overdrive when the overdrive is on and you hit a bump in the road? Sometimes it jumps out without the overdrive being on and with overdrive on also. This is a 2 wheel drive vehicle. This problem has been going on for a while now and I am at a loss as to what I should check first. Can anyone please help me? jpb53 03-20-2008, 04:18 PM Have you checked the connectors on the trans and the harness from the trans forward to the eng compartment. Might just have a loose connecton somewhere;or a wire rubbing and bare in that area. jdmccright 03-21-2008, 04:00 PM It may be a reaction to the anti-lock brakes engaging. If the rear wheels hit a bump and the antilock system detects impending lock-up, it can send a signal to disengage the O/D to reduce power to the rear wheels. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
