Cleaning the Air Idle Control Valverpmckill 03-14-2008, 04:51 PM Last week I had to have my car towed because the engine would start and then die right away. The mechanic adjusted some things, got it working, but told me I'd have to take it to a dealer because he didn't have the means to replace the Air Idle Control Valve. Right now the engine starts but the rpms fluctuate while on idle. I've seen other posts on here that make it sound like cleaning/replacing the IAC can be done by an owner. Does anyone know a site that shows pictures or has step by step instructions on how to do this? Or what else can be done? It's a 1998 328is. venzon 03-17-2008, 11:46 AM Try the link below.
