i have a 94 lx d15b7, know someone that want to sell me his vtec d16z6 si engine out of his 93. what all will i need to make this engine work in my car. also what is obd1 and obd2.

thats a 20 HP gain, not worth it.

You'll need to run some wires for V-tec and preferably a new ECU that supports the V-tec.

It is worth it if your engine is about to die, or runs like shit, i got a d15b vtec and its 27 hp increase from what i had and yeah its defiently worth it especially for the price you can get these engines, they bolt straight up, all you need is a ecu.

Why is it not worth it? I say got for it dude you will notice a diffrence for sure and the z6 engines are hella fun to play with. You have a 94 which is OBD1 and the z6 motors are OBD1 so you do not have to worry about that. OBD stand for On Board Diagnostics which what they are is Emissions programs that Honda put into the computers.

You actually need nothing more than the motor as it will bolt right upto your tranny using the mounts present in your car now.You will need toaddress the vtec by either wiring it,or running a vtec controller(fields,vafc).It is a very worthwhile swap as frostbyte said,it is a very fun engine with a lot of potential.
