gas pedal on '94 sierra

the gas pedal on my truck is stiff. i could barely even push it down with my hand. my friend cleaned the spring on the outside of throttle body and it made it a little looser but now it is hard again. any suggestions?

It could be carbon build up inside the Throttle Body. First step should be to remove throttle cable and TV cable and see if moving the butterflies by hand is stiff. If stiff, clean the inside with a good TB Cleaner. It could also be one of the cables sticking.

I do notice the gas pedal on my GMC is faily stiff in comparason to other vehicles I've driven. It's been that way since the truck was new. It was the same way on my other 2500 Chevy. I always thought it was normal.
