I have a 1993 Ford F150 supercab 4x4 sortbox. I slid off the road down, a real steep ditch, and directly into a pine tree earlier this winter(it was a somewhat low speed wreck, id say between 15 and 25 mph but i have no way of knowing for sure i wasnt exactly looking at the speedometer at the time). The collision took place directly in line with the passeneger side of the frame. Since the accident the truck has been shaking bad(at all speeds), I have also noticed that it wants to spin out when i turn to the right, and it is does not like to turn to the left.... i have to reposition to get into perpendicular parking spots now. I can see where the crumple frame failed. It failed behind the accordian part. I can also see where big chunks of rust have been rattled loose around the connecting point to the main frame... no cracks as far as i can tell. Anyway I was wondering if anyone could tell me how i can find out if my frame is bent without the use of a frame alignment machine.

From your description it sounds like your frame is bent, and the truck probably isn't safe to drive. If you've got a lot of rust underneath there you may have cracked it. If I were you I'd have it put on a lift and thoroghly inspected by a professional.

It does sound like a bent frame. You can start by putting water across the road and drive staight through it and see if your front and bake tire tracks line up. we usualy check it for free other body shops may be different (but ask first) If no damage is visible by looking a the body alingment its an easy fix and should never cost more than $225 to straighten the frame
