88 GMC Has Hesitation

I have a 88 GMC, 305 cu. in, auto, with 150K miles. When I first pull out of the driveway it runs fine, by the time I get a couple of blocks away (motor has had time to even warm up) it developes a hesitation everytime I take off. Once I get out on the open road it runs fine. But any time I come to a stop and take off it hesitates. Any suggestions?

- EGR or EGR Solenoid could be bad causing an off idle hesitation.
- Exhaust Restriction
- Bad Temp Sensor
- Bad MAP Sensor
- Fuel Pressure
- Bad Ignition Coil or Pick Up Coil
- Bad 02 Sensor
- Vacuum Leak
- Incorrect Ignition Timing or Bad Ignition Module

Getting it scanned might be a good first step.

I had it scanned, showed "33" which was MAP sensor. Replace MAP sensor, no help.

EGR - cleaned all componets, and made sure diaphram was working, new flex tubing to exhaust manifold. no help

Exhaust - new exhaust system

Replaced temp sensor

Replace MAP sensor

Replaced 02 sensor.

Checked timing

Put injector cleaner in tank and sprayed in throat of throdle body

checked for vacuum leaks

Still has hesitation.

Will check fuel pressure next. How do you check coil? truck runs fine after the hesitation. It appears to me to be fuel related because in slow, heavy traffic it sometimes "flutters" like it may be getting too much fuel.??

Any other suggestions??

It sounds like a bad PCV valve to me. Replace that AND the hose going to the TBI base as well.
