2000 Lesabre: Engine quits

The engine will quit after a couple of minutes of idling. The idle is smooth with no roughness before it quits, it is just like turning the key and shutting the engine off. No problems while driving in fact when it stays running its like driving a new car. I took it to a dealer and they could not figure it out, so I'm assuming they checked the codes.

Welcome to AF, what happens when attempting to restart?

The car also quit on me while I was driving and when I went to restart I couldn't seem to keep it running. After 3 times or so it ran enough for me to get into gear and go and then it seemed to run fine the rest of the way home. When I got home I let it idle and then it died again, restarted it let it run for awhile but didn't quit.

Sounds like you may have an intermittent fuel pump. Sems like the dealer sould have been ble to elminate that possibilty however.

How many miles are on it? Are you losing coolant? If you are could be a bad water pump stalling the car. My friend had a bad water pump and had this problem with a 97' buick.
