96 Sentra alternator draining batterybcownie 03-08-2008, 02:26 PM I have a 96 Sentra that has a problem with the alternator discharging the battery when the car sits for a weekend. I put a meter on it and with nothing on I isolated the discharge to the alternator feed wire (white). If I disconnect that for the weekend it works fine. It has a new battery so I changed the alternator out. It's still doing the same thing. Downloaded the wiring diagram and don't see anything special. Looking for any ideas. inafogg 03-08-2008, 02:53 PM hello, did you put meter in series at the battery.how much is the draw?not sure about white wire i'm guessing its not the feed wire for alt thats usually a red wire......if it is the feed wire then thats always hot 12v.you may have to check that circuit for the cause bcownie 03-09-2008, 01:08 PM Meter was in series and it draws about 300ma. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
