FYI: Brake lights and Cruise Control not workingMark Fowler 03-06-2008, 03:54 PM Just thought I'd share. '97 Sentra. For a while the cruise control was not been operational. I checked the cables and tubes and what not around the unit and everything seemed fine. I had not replaced anything yet, but knew that I would have to. Well, the brake lights quit working and I found where a rubber bumper sits in a hole on the arm to the brake pedal which triggers the switch. The bumper had deteriorated and fell through. I noticed there were two switches there and both needed the rubber bumpers. Both were missing. The other rubber bumper apparently switches the cruise control off, and was preventing it's operation. I tried to stick a small bolt through the hole but was having difficulty, so i looked around my various junk and found a weight for a ceiling fan. Metal on one side and sticky on the other. I replaced both with that, but I will still search out the rubber bumpers. Hopefully this helps someone. The cruise control not working had me stumped for a while. slideways... 03-06-2008, 08:14 PM interesting. i wonder why nissan decided to use a completely redundant and separate switch for the cruise control? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
