shut off delay

hey i have a 91 newyorker i just bought and i have a 3 second delay i turn the key off and it stays running for few seconds befor it shuts off it doesnt hesitate or anything like post ignition or anything it shuts off normal just takes a minute ive heard of chryslers doing this before can anyone help me out it doesnt bother me in fact i think its quite a conversation starter LOL is this serious or could it lead to something serious if not then i dont really care just wondering THANX FOR ANY INPUT

ok so this is weird my har has done this since the day i bought it and 2 days after i posted this i took the car out today and all of a sudden it shuts off with no delay HMMMMM thats odd

All it's doing is cooling down before it shuts down. I had another car that did the same thing.

Cooling down? Ah don't you just love Chryslers? they're so technologically sophisticated, even though people often point at european cars like Mercedes as being technologically advanced. Yet even in the late 80s, Chryslers were completely computerized. My friend's 91 Dodge Dynasty, that we're fixing up, has 8 different computers on it! What I really love is that the A604 transmission computer actually learns how you drive and adapts itself to you. Now that's luxury, and available on such cheap cars too!

Remember to point this out to people bragging about their Benz or Beamer! :D
