Hey all........

Curious what the going price is to have a timing belt replaced. I realize prices will be different in different areas, and to what all is done, etc.

Have heard anywhere from $300-400 and $1000-1200. Is the lower-end pricing 'just' doing the minimum and changing the belt and nothing else? And the upper-end pricing covering the belt, water-pump and other items that should be changed/done 'while we are there'?

Take a V-6 w/100,000 mi. Looking for recommendations/suggestions on what should/should not be done. That will help me justify the difference in pricing, maybe. Not really looking for a Honda dealer to do the work, rather a reputable independent garage or a shop that specializes working w/Hondas.

Tried looking for some other posts/comments about this....and looks like more than just the belt itself should be addressed while it's apart. Appreciate any comments about what to replace and estimates on costs......see ya
