What the heck is a WATER INJECTION KIT for a car like the EVO?traffic_tom 03-05-2008, 12:51 PM How does this work and what kinds of gains can be expected? And is a water injection kit reliable for a daily driver? jayjack 03-05-2008, 01:26 PM i doubt this is it but there is work on and engine that injects water into the engine adding 2 strokes to it. if its a kit you add to the car then i highly doubt it but here is an atricle on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crower_six_stroke J-Ri 03-05-2008, 05:10 PM That 6-stroke guy is onto something if that works. Water injection (in a 4-stroke) is used to cool the engine to prevent pinging. I think it is usually used only in turbo engines. slideways... 03-05-2008, 05:35 PM yeah. basically it mists water into the intake to cool off the air coming in. its sort of an additional intercooler. like so many other mods that ricers think make power, a mister doesnt make power by itself, it just helps give an extra bit of leeway for tuning. slideways... 03-05-2008, 05:38 PM oh and its reliable, as long as 2 things happen 1. for a daily driver, keep it so that the car isnt on the ragged edge when you arent using the water. 2. for the same reason, make sure you never run out of water. you need some sort of reservoir installed in your car, so the bigger the reservoir, the more weight you carry, but the more water you can use and the longer you can go between refills. if you use this i would say try and integrate some reservoir under the seat in the car or something low to the ground and central. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
