Ignition questionNativeTexan2 03-03-2008, 12:11 AM I've got an 80B with the CEI distributor and can not get a spark to the plugs. I installed new cap, rotor and wires but still get no spark from coil. I tested the coil by putting a test lamp to the + side of the coil with the ignition on and got power. Next I put the test lamp on - side and cranked the engine. All I got was a steady light, no blinking light which I think means that the coil is not switching. I opened up the amplifer and had the module tested and it is good. My multitester shows 0.00 ohms from + side to - side and only 4.5 from center of coil to + side. I'm thinking the coil is bad. Anyone have any other ideas. Thanks :runaround: Flash75 03-03-2008, 06:24 AM If you have the original type coil it should have around 1.5 ohms between the + and - terminals. There should be several K ohms from the center terminal to the side terminals. If you have a meter that is capable of reading accurate low resistance readings and you are sure of the readings it sounds like your coil may be bad.
