AutoZone Optima Batteriesdouglas92000 03-02-2008, 04:46 PM Does anyone have experience/recommendations for the high priced Autozone Optima Batteries? Are they worth the price? http://www.autozone.com/R,APP337546/vehicleId,2726603/initialAction,partProductDetail/store,3115/partType,00175/shopping/partProductDetail.htm tinstar 03-17-2008, 08:05 AM My first Optima I bought from AZ and my second I bought from Oreillys Auto Parts. I have been running them for about 4 years now. Yes they are pricey, but I think in the long run they are worth it. They seem to have a little more kick when it's really cold (-5). I also run Hella Rally 4000 and 500 lamps, plus two radios, along with everything else and I wanted a battery that would handle all of the extra load without failing. For me it was more of a piece of mind than a fancy battery. I have both the yellow top and red top. Kinda long winded, but I hope this helped. PeteA216 03-17-2008, 12:13 PM I'd actually recommend the AC Delco batteries. The original Delco in my '89 Sierra got 9 solid years use before crapping out, and the AC Delco one that I put in back in 1998 just went on me this past december, so I got nearly 10 years out of the second one. I have a 2400 watt sound system in the trunk of my '84 Caprice and with the Delco I put in there (same one as the truck asctually), I can have the thing going for hours straight and the car starts right up without a problem. I don't know about Optima batteries, but I will swear by Delco. They're a little more pricey, but man to them things take a beating and last a hell of a long time. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
