I am going to change the transmission filter and fluid in my 1996 Park Avenue and was needing to know if I need the special Kent moore tool to remove the filter seal as sugested in the service manual or can pliers or a pick be used to remove the seal?
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.

I've had pretty good success using a headlight spring hook. Unfortunately, those are getting harder to find since most vehicles are using composite headlamps any more.
As long as you're changing the filter, might it be a good time to install a drain plug?

I used a wide, large screwdriver to wiggle one out. I was slow and moved around to different sides and as soon as it moved a little it was out
