how to deactivate alarm in a 95 lumina sedantunda1 02-28-2008, 03:52 AM The button i have for the stock alarm broke and dont care to get a new one. Just wondering if there is a way to deactivate the alarm. It will strictly be a work and beach car so i wont have anything of value in it. i dont really want to buy another button either. its weird cuz i can jump start the car but as soon as i turn it off. it makes a clicking noise and seems like battery is dead. but im sure it is the alarm that is killing it since i have no working button to disarm it. Much mahaloz jeffcoslacker 02-29-2008, 06:47 AM Are you talking about the remote that broke? tunda1 02-29-2008, 07:15 PM yes the remote broke. I dont really care to buy a new one, i really just want to deactivate or remove it so i can start my car normally. right now it will only start if i jump it then as soon as i turn it off i hear few clicks near the ignition and wont start after that. and when i do jump the car and it runs the locks start going crazy locking and unlocking on their own. Please help jeffcoslacker 02-29-2008, 07:26 PM It sounds more like the body control module is having some kind of nervous breakdown...are you sure it was the remote that broke? Maybe the BCM just stopped listening to it... If the security system was armed, it wouldn't let you start it, jump or no... tunda1 03-01-2008, 09:12 PM There is a reset button between steering wheel and pedals. My uncle said he thinks it resets the alarm because after he presses it we are able to jump the car plus the headlights stop flashing when we press it. then after i turn the car off it makes those clicking noises then to start it i must press that reset button then jump it. jeffcoslacker 03-02-2008, 07:12 AM Ahhh..ok. Are you sure it's a stock system? They didn't have a reset that I'm aware of. I'd follow the wires from that button, you should find the module for the alarm...disconnect there and see what happens... Listening to the clicks after shutting it down, is it possible this is coming from the module/relay for it? I'd have a look... jeffcoslacker 03-02-2008, 07:15 AM If you determine that this is NOT a stock alarm setup, you might ask a remote start/security system installer (any electronics store like Best Buy has them, or car audio/electronic store) and see what they make out it... They may be able to point you right to the solution... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
