Can any one offer up any suggestions for the best and easiest way to replace my lower control arm bushings on a 2000 f150 2wd. It makes an aweful squeak when turning and driving. So , I think I need to dig in. In the past I have always used a torch to get the old ones out, then beat the new ones back in. If there is a better way that anyone knows of I'd appreciate the advise.

If your talking about the lower ball joints, you can borrow w/deposit a balljoint press from your local auto parts house which will push them out and back in again once you get the spindle off. I used an impact wrench and didn't find the need for heat when I did the wifes 2000 E150. With a 100k on it I went ahead and replaced the upper ball joints as well.

There is a lower A-arm which you have bushings up in the frame, If thats what your talking about, you'll probably need to dis-assemble the spindle/ball joints anyway, then remove the bolt/nut to remove the A-arm.

Yeah I am talking about the bushings, and not the ball joint. I figured while I have the control arm out I will replace the ball joint as well. But, If you have ever done bushings before, it can be a real pain. I was just really asking if anyone knew any good tricks for making life easier replacing the bushings.
