Window/Lock Problems and Removal of Door Panels shenning 02-24-2008, 12:21 PM
I need to remove the plastic door panels on my '99 GP GT. Both windows are operating erratically when it's cold, as it is now. The passenger side of the car was damaged in an accident and repaired. I'm not sure if the problem is something related to the accident, window track, regulator, etc. It just won't go back up when it's cold out. Also, the door lock won't operate from the outside. The driver's side is very slow to go back up when it's cold. I want to take a look at the workings of both doors to see what kind of shape they're in. Can anyone give me some tips about safe removal of the panels? I sure don't want to break them! Thanks! doctorhrdware 02-24-2008, 02:48 PM This is form actual experience, I believe that it is definitely related to the accident. I had my drivers side door bent in. The insurance company did not replace the door, just re skinned. The body shop had to heat up the door to straighten the door frame. The window has never worked the same again when it is cold, the window is very very slow, have too hold the switch down to open the window.
