Hi guys, today I got the visit of my friend and scuderia's partner Luca, so I got the chance to see his R5, Export 33 kind from '85 TdC Auriol' car. It's almost finished: few touches like mirrors and the antenna. Have fun.

Thanks a lot guys, I'll forward your impressions to him (he's a kind of those "against technology/IT guys" :D, he own a superb laptop but I dubt he never switch on LOL)
Oh, well I'll add my comment: he done really a good job, and more: one finished this kit weight much more than a brick... really robust!!!!

What is it with you Italians loving those French cars when you have some of the most beautiful machinery on your doorstep - plain weird I tell ya!:grinyes:

Hi Gio,

congrats to Luca, impressive !!!

But :eek7: seeing the built after my kitreview I wonder, why Luca didnīt use the etched hinges in the front hood.

The seats back would look a little better IMO, if the decals were covered f.e. with Tamiya smoke.

One more thing, see this just as a hint for further models..., concerning the vents on the cooler: they would look better, if they would not "stick" on the cooler, but if there would be a little distance between cooler and vents.

:yikes:
Woowwowwwww...
what to say... Incredible result !
I also wonder why to keep the resin hinges when having some PE available but except of that everything seems perfect to me.
(maybe some smoke over the back seats carbon would give better accuracy result, yes, but hey, aleady very nice like that ! :naughty: )
Hoping I would be able to build mine even half as good and that will satisfy me !! :grinyes:

Of course, Phil, great job, I just intended to say, how the model could be improved IMO, but nobody must do that ;-))

No probs guys: I was much more critic Sunday with seat's kevlar and few other items: Luca said me that he seen by real some of those real R5 kevlar compounds: they seems just yellow! without any black fiber:we're used to see 80-90 cars like our Lancia, that got much more carbon in the textile.

As now isn't so easy own '80 accurate interior's references: I seen a rebuilt Auriol cars and the Ragnotti's car he use on hystoric rallyes: both has black carbon seat's back...

Micha: about hinges: Luca is the only responsible about the massive hinges since he done the R5 master : he wanted them for himself to allow to open hoods, obviously now he skip PE hinges :D

Thanks a lot guys for the warm welcome to Luca. Before or later I want to show you some of his fantastic stuff: almost all scratchbuilt or modified: 4sport, S1, ECV, ECVII, S4..... superb stuff...

That's exactly how I understood that ! :grinyes:

I was mostly talking for myself, meaning that if I can have that result myself that would be very good and satisfying even if I can/could/shoud/would :naughty: try to improve it a bit more...

But for the moment I'm still only contemplating the model each time I open the box... :naughty: :p
