1990 GMC Sierra 2WD 5 spd Manual tranny

Hey guys, after some posting and talking to friends and a few mechanics I have decided that the problem with my truck is the clutch. Problem is I have never dropped a tranny or rebuilt a clutch. Now don't get me wrong, I am pretty good at working on vehicles, Like I said I have just never done any of this. I prefer to repair my own vehicles and usually do, but I just don't want to get in over my head.

Have any of you guys done this and would you recommend it or not. Also could use any tips you might have.

Obviously another consideration is the money I would save. A clutch kit is $109.00 at Oreilly Auto parts.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
