You will need to go with a piggyback or an standalone system to tune. The difficulty with many piggyback systems is tuning the VANOS. The DME needs to be used to tune the VANOS. Keep in mind, tuning isnt just hooking up to a laptop and clicking a few buttons. There needs to be realtime load tested tuning, which involves ignition mapping, fuel mapping, etc. Your quality in the tune also depends on the resolution of the tuning. If you want a chip, get a set one. Unless you plan on investing $2000+ in a piggyback and another $800 in tuning labor. And at that point, $2800 would only be worthwhile if you had some serious modifications - i.e. forced induction. That $2800 can be spent on other things for power. rdialber 10-18-2008, 11:39 AM My 2002 - 3330 has been pretty good for 6 years but some expensive repairs along the way. I am glad I got the extended warranty. Covered some big repairs. Now I have 83,000 miles and the 6 year extended warranty is over. Had to do some weird repairs, like an engine switch, power steering pressure hose. A gasket replacement from the oil filter connection to the engine.
