I replace my front brakes and at first I notice that the new brake pads were to big to fit in the brake-caliper and over the rotor............So I had to actually sand-down the rotor and take a hammer over the brake-caliper to make it fit over the brake-rotor.......................Now when I drive the brake pads are rubbing on the rotor..................Why is this. And yes I purchase the right brake-pads......................

By the way it a 1994 Saturn SL (4-sedan)

Did you use a c clamp on push the caliper piston back into caliper as far as it can go? Check to see if front rubber brake hose is not collasped internally.

Did you have trouble on both sides or just one?

I'm finding the words "sand-down" and "hammer" to be quite alarming. There should not be any sanding or hammering to do a brake job. :uhoh:

You need to push the caliper in with either your hands, c-clamp, or the tool they sell at autozone/advanced auto. The rotors shoud NOT have to be touched with any sand paper or hammer. Slight rubbing of the pads on the rotor is normal with new pads and disk brakes.
