a muscley toon kinda thing up nextlemorris 02-18-2008, 09:02 PM lemorris 02-18-2008, 09:18 PM http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_02.jpg subject to change I need some balance it's kinda fallin down the steps  =) off the edge 02-18-2008, 09:23 PM all of those cars dont flow very well with the sign. lemorris 02-18-2008, 09:33 PM like I said the layout will change The cars will get rendered individually so at this point it's not critical lemorris 02-18-2008, 09:38 PM the other 2 cars pencil work it's a little out there kinda Charles Paw style After I get the cars rendered I'll re-work the layout. http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_03.jpg http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_04.jpg lemorris 02-18-2008, 10:02 PM http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_05.jpg I'm here on the Supra. The thing about this car being on the shirt is, it's not my choice. The client said what they wanted. Apparently they do a lot of these down there and they want it repped on their shirt this go round. Another interesting thing about this outfit...16 17 years ago or whatever it was, they were the first company to hire me to do a car shirt. It was long before I did any computer stuff (I'm only a couple years in the digital stuff...that's why it's how it is) but these fellas walked across the business complex to our t-shirt shop and gave me a shot. I also did all their sign work and the full corporate identity package (cards, letterhead, blah blah blah) My first airbrush job was with them too...cool cats...I heart them. =) oh it's just the pen tool I'm still on a mouse so I just click and drag my way through I find a lot of thought takes place between the lines. I haven't done anything I like in about 15 years but I've done a lot I'm ok with...huh?...what music am I listening to for this project? tonight is it's Kraftwerk in particular a song named Vitamin off the Tour de France Soundtrack. I also have some ELP as back up just in case. :) GirlBear 02-18-2008, 10:42 PM I like all 3 of the cars. The supra the best. But i c what ur doin. showin a range of dif types of cars. A wide Spectrum so to speak. If i was lookin 4 a specialist in this feild i would prolly consider these guys. Ur point came across 2 me. lol lemorris 02-20-2008, 12:28 AM http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_06.jpg This one will be in little spurts. I have a full time job as what they call an instructional technologist which is corporate for "drawer/media guy" and I have a few other irons in the fire right now but I'm pledging 45 minutes a night to this project so maybe in a week or so we'll be looking close to something. This pic is just more linework. Blue stuff will be black and the red is for my hilites and shadows and stuff. It's like making a coloring book except a little more intense. Still bumpin Kraftwerk but I did throw in a little Giant Panda so...it's all good more soon lemorris 02-20-2008, 11:44 PM nicecar 02-21-2008, 04:31 PM nice job man, its good to see you're making the effort in what little spare time you have ;) lemorris 02-21-2008, 09:51 PM bonzelite 02-22-2008, 03:07 AM I love your toons. Always. Blip 02-22-2008, 11:22 AM Nice toons, and if I remember right, didn't you post something a long time ago that the Roadrunner body shape was one of your "banes" for getting that right look. If that was you , than I'd say you have slayed that one as the angle and proportions look very cool on the bird. lemorris 02-22-2008, 03:53 PM yeah the Roadrunner has been an "Elanor" for me. My other one is aFastback Torino. I drew one I liked 20 years ago but I've been "the suck" on that one ever since. ;) lemorris 02-24-2008, 10:34 PM lemorris 02-24-2008, 11:04 PM lemorris 02-25-2008, 10:11 PM here's the latest just got started so it's still very much in progress but I think I can see it in there http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_11.jpg lemorris 02-25-2008, 10:47 PM lemorris 02-25-2008, 11:39 PM lemorris 02-26-2008, 10:10 PM GirlBear 02-26-2008, 10:43 PM http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_14.jpg http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_15.jpg lemorris, thats awesome. U R The King. I d bow at ur feet, but I dont want everybody checkin out my cleavage. lol lemorris 02-26-2008, 11:33 PM I got Man-neries...I understand. I'm not that good though. You're the Bow-ee...I'm the Bow-er http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_17.jpg GirlBear 02-27-2008, 01:21 AM I got Man-neries...I understand. I'm not that good though. You're the Bow-ee...I'm the Bow-er http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_17.jpg Ur insane! "Man-neries" Thats funny. That was nice but, I don't have .5 of ur skill/talent. U Robo and Blip are my Sensei's. So to Speak. elcamino6t9 02-28-2008, 08:59 AM Ur insane! "Man-neries" Thats funny. That was nice but, I don't have .5 of ur skill/talent. U Robo and Blip are my Sensei's. So to Speak. Ditto to what GB said... you guys (including GB for me) are who I look to for direction... and so far i havent got lost yet... but still have a LOOOONG road to travel to catch you all... thanks for that!.. your art blows my away.... SIMPLE!!! Blip 02-28-2008, 11:02 AM Luv the detailing on the bird! For your reflection outlines, do you use a lot of ref pictures or just see the reflection in you head. You make it look so nature and easy to create them, but when I try something like yours' or Jeri C's style, it looks too over done--too forced. Any thoughts would be helpful to me. (I know one big different is your use of PS to paint, while I stay all in vector work.) And GB--thanks for lumping me in that group, but I have so much more to learn. lemorris 03-01-2008, 12:22 PM for reflections I just kinda wing it most times if I see somethin cool on a car maybe not even the one I'm tryin to draw I might try to work it in. It's a feel thing for me. I'm working on trying to get better at it...long process. here's the "done for now" http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_18.jpg movin on to the Supra I think nicecar 03-01-2008, 01:29 PM thats cool, but whats with the skatepark halfpipe ramps on the bonnet? Only jokin, your work is fantastic, i'd love those rendering skills with my pencil art. lemorris 03-01-2008, 02:16 PM well I know that when this gets printed on the textile (shirt) I can count on 10% dot gain at least...especially on black. Due to the ink hitting an absorbant surface (like a shirt) you get dot-gain or a larger area of saturation due to the natural capillary action that is in cotton fibers so...I kinda try to account for that in the render. It's a crap shoot depending on the printer but I know the printer that this job goes to has that kind of gain so I'm just being careful. In any case the Supra is started http://www.dhphut.com/images/pf08_19.jpg the color will change I just wanted a visual cue right now. My daughter is going to help me color it. lemorris 03-02-2008, 08:51 PM lemorris 03-02-2008, 10:30 PM GirlBear 03-02-2008, 10:58 PM Wow. lookin sweet as hell! Im really digging ur chrome and windows. I mean its all bad ass but, Im just a chrome freak right now. I can't wait to see this supra finished. lemorris 03-05-2008, 08:54 AM Blip 03-05-2008, 05:09 PM Thanks for the info on how you "see" and make reflections. Nice work on the Supra, the chrome rims are spot on. lemorris 03-06-2008, 12:01 AM vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
