Ahhh! This is the second thing in the past month I have to deal with on this vehicle. First I had to change my fuel pump and now my car is stuck at my work parking lot because I cant get my shift to move and it is stuck in park. I have tried to make sure my wheel is straight and press the break in, but still isnt working. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it? I hope this isnt going to be a big job, I am running out of money to fix this stupid car!
Any info is appreciated...

Did you bring the vehicle to a complete stop before you shifted it into park?

Sounds like you Brake/Trans Shift Interlock (BTSI) solenoid is malfunctioning.

Check your fuses first.
Then you can check the BTSI connector in the console by the shifter, make sure its mounted properly.
Thier's another plug by your brake light switch under the brake pedal.

hope that helps

Took it apart and noticed a small cable that goes from the break pedal to the shifter is not connected to the shifter where its supposed to be. Also, now when i put the key in the ignition it wont turn from off position and now i cant start it. I have a window down and since i cant turn the key there is snow getting in.....

I think its my park lock cable that is stuck it doesnt seem like its broke but it wont budge, which then wont allow the shift to move, but when it was forced the connector between the two broke. I think since the cable wont adjust properly this is also why my key wont turn. What do u think? Would a replaced cable do the trick? I am wondering if I disconnect the cable from the ignition it may not be needed.....
