1997 Lesabre Power Steering Pump Removal

I am currently in the process of starting to replace the Power Steering Pump on my 97 Lesabre. I know how to get all the bolts and hoses off, but I am having problems figuring out how to get the old pump out from behind the bottom passenger side of compartment. There doesn't seem to be enough clearance. Do I have to take some of the engine mount / stabilizers loose and rock the engine forward to get it out? In a TIGHT SPOT!

There should be a hole in the pulley. Rotate the power steering pump pulley to line up the mounting bolts. Then remove the pulley.

"Then remove the pulley? Long ways to go before that is done. Don't you mean remove the power steering pump mounting bolts? A pulley puller is required to remove the pulley and that is performed while the power steering pump is off the car.

To the OP we have a tech procedure written up for a Regal but applicable to any GM car with the Series II 3800 engine at our Buick Tips & Maintenance forum. See link below.

Thanks BNaylor, lot of good info from the procedure you showed on the Buick Regal. Especially the Refill and air bleeding procedure (rack n pinion system). I ended up removing the Alternator and the Serpentine Belt Idle Pulley, and then I had enough room to pull the Power Steering Pump up past the passenger side of engine. Thanks for all the help!
