97 Malibu key wont turn in ignition

when i tried to turn the key to start the car the key wont turn in the ignition. the steering wheel turns and the car is in park but the key wont turn in the ignition. can someone help me?

same thing happened to me. If you have another key, then try that one. It worked for me. Now I just use the other as a backup. Hope this works.

I didn't have another key so I had the ignition replaced now it works. thanks anyway.
