Hey everyone, my gf just bought a 98 Beetle 2.0L with only 1 Set of keys(NON remote Key). I was looking online to buy a -new key w/remote attached- Question is, do i need to program the NEW key (i think car has immobalizer) to use it in the ignition. I read here that 98-00 don't need to, can some1 confirm it?- If I need to program the key, then i'll just spent less money buying a used key/w remote and just use the remote(which would need extra key for the doors to program)
Please Let me know & Thank You in advance
ps.I thought i had the Valet key only, but it opens the glovebox as well as the hatch & passanger door.

COOL THING I FOUND, PUT THE KEY IN & TURN/HOLD IT ON UNLOCK AND BOTH WINDOWS GO DOWN, KEEP THE KEY TURNED TO LOCK & BOTH WINDOWS WILL GO UP
