I hope this is in the correct part of the camaro section. My g/f's kid posted this question in the Dodge section and did not get a response. I figured it was a generic enough question and you guys would help out.

He has a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup and needs to replace his brake pads and rotors. What are some good manufactures to go with. We really only have Advance and Auto Zone in the area to pick stuff up. Thanks for any help you can provide.

for average conditions those would be fine places to pick up pads and rotors... they do have different grades of them though so if you're looking for better quality ask them what the better grade they have is

The mid cost Autozone's are what i usually use. Definately not the 'cheapies'.

Do you happen to know what brand they are?

They used to be Albany, which are probably reboxed under the Duralast brand now.

great, thank you. I saw that duralast has 2 models for his truck, the regular and the gold. Any advantage to going with there gold series?

Well you get a 90 day sotre warrenty on almost all purchases. If the Duralast regulars are the ones in midrange price, that should suffice. DO NOT settle for valuecrap, I mean valuecraft, period. The Gold's :dunno: may be a little better material, but if the regulars come up as "original eqiupment replacement" i'd go that route.

Just remeber, tell 'em to go easy on the brakes for a while, no granny riding or sudden abrupt stuff.
