In Oct. 07 I brought my car in for the engine light. They told me it was a bad emission solenoid. They replaced it and charged $100 under the extended warranty. Today Feb. 11, 08 I brought the car back for the engine light. This time they told me there was a short in the emission solenoid (due to water?). It was just under $100 so it did not go under the extended warranty. I feel like it was the same problem and they kept it under $100 so they would not submit the bill to Chevrolet. Is it possible that it was two different problems with the same solenoid? I feel like they are taking advantage because I am a female.
Thank you

It's hard to say... it's certainly possible to have two problems with the same part.

An interseting thing about taking advantage of females... I saw a report (20/20, 60 minutes, don't remember which or maybe another one altogether) that said men are more likely to be taken advantage of than women. It is because men think if they ask a question it shows a weakness, so they pay the bill and leave. Women, on the other hand (having nothing to "prove") will ask questions if they don't understand something.

I would be asking them some questions about it.
If it was the same part or problem.
If it was fixed oct. 07 for that problem it should have a GM goodwrench warranty like a year on the parts and repair.
Is it on extended warranty or gm factory warranty?
What mileage?
Some states have additional coverage on emmision parts.
Also there is a customer service 800 no in your owners manual if you want additional information or not happie with the dealership.
Sometimes asking the dealership service department for there customer servicce no gets a lot of stuff taken care of.
Good Luck
