What Generation are Australian Civics?B0shi 02-24-2003, 01:36 AM Hi all, Can someone tell me how the Honda Civic generations work in Australia. Because I think from 91-95 is a gen(but what?) in Aus but in Japan and US its like 92-95 is 5th gen civic and 96-00 is 6th gen civic etc. In Aus they all labeled differently too instead of DX, LX, VX etc we have GL, CXi and Si(universal?), so its damn hard to find aftermarket parts for your car and locating service manuals etc as they all seem to cater to the US civics. I just bought a 92 Civic from a auction, But I am not sure what model it is. It has a GL sticker on the back but the engine is a D16A8 and the VIN is JHMEHxxxx (not JHMEGxxxx as it is supposed to be for a GL). Im not sure what the interior of a GL or a Si is supposed to look like but the interior of my car is grey. Is there any difference between Si and GL interior? Could my car infact be a GL but with a frontend swap with a Si? Oz 02-24-2003, 05:32 PM 88-91 was 4th gen 92-95 was 5th gen 96-2000 was 6th gen 2001-current is seventh gen Your car is a 5th gen, it will come with one of these engines: Si - 1.6l EFi (D16) GL - 1.5l Carby Job (No idea what series that motor is) VTi - 1.6l EFi (Similar to the Si, but different engine. SOHC) Breeze - :lol2: If you need any more answers on Aussie Hondas, I suggest posting a thread in Location -> Asia Pacific and any of the crew (me, Setanta, Spunkymonkey, even Slave;)) will be happy to help you out. B0shi 02-28-2003, 07:08 AM Thanks Oz, nice bit of information you have there on Aus Civics. Sorry for the late reply though. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
