ok well the car was skipping so i changed the plugs an when i pulled the #3 plug out there was oil all over it!?... i called the dealership, they said it could be from the car being flooded or some other dumb shit that didnt make any since.. i was in advace auto and they told me that it sounds like a bad ring!! a friend of mine said the same thing!!that is sounds like the oil ring on the piston has a crack in or something!! anyone have any other ideas? i really hate to have to have new rings put in this car i just got it like 2 weeks ago! its bad enough i had to put new brake shoes, the spring kit, an drums on the back which was 150 $ with labor which isnt that bad but damn! also found out that my check engine light is on bc the exhaust pipe is broken rt before the cat converter! an i cant just buy the lil flang thing i have to buy the whole cat converter with the pipe at a dealership over 500 $ at autozone, napa, advance auto 288$.. does anyone think it would work if i just had the pipe welded? its not rusted through the stock pipe weld looks like it broke!?

You should run a compresion check on the engine, first!!!!! had a S-10 do the same thing. it was a bad injector. as for the convertor if it is not rusted so thin that it cant be welded , weld it with a mig welder by someone that can weld good. but make sure you unhook the battery post first or you could mess up the computor on the car.

Was the oil on the electrode end or on the plug wire end?

If the oil is on the electrode part of the plug, there may be some internal engine damage. If it's all over the ceramic or upper part of the plug, under the spark plug wire, it's a tube seal and is a fairly easy repair. Good Luck!

Oil on the plug is probably due to a bad spark plug tube seal. It's about $20 for the kit and about a 30 minute job.
