It's funny to drive, but frankly, I don't really like the design of the R4.

I know well this car and drove one. I knew some poeple who had one. But I don't like the design. I prefer a Peugeot 104 for this year, or even a Fiesta.
And currently, I don't really like the Kangoo neither ;)

Dauphine was a funner car to drive (I think it looked better too) I don't know if they sold the 4 in the U.S. officially.

The 4 was not sold in the USA. The 5 was under the name : LeCar... but this car was not "finished", well done alas !

I know that there were models that Renault did not sell "officially" but you could get through special order, like the panel van that used the Dauphine's engine (I found in a Junkyard along with a 4cv)
And I know that Citroen did the same thing - although the 2cv wasn't available at most dealers after the early sixties you could still have it special ordered if you wanted too (I think up until 1968 anyway)
