I dont have a Stratus, but with any car 11 or 12 years old, I would ask how old are the spark plugs and plug wires? The stuttering could either be a fuel delivery problem, or an ignition problem; of old plugs and wires, dirty or loose coil pack; but it could be plenty of other things. You may want to get its Service Engine codes checked, to see what its PCM thinks about the situation.
And does this only happen when the engine is cold, or does it happen even after its driven long enough to be fully warmed up?
