hey guys its still me here, i decided that i shoul consolidate the last thread about charging so that this would be more efficient, idk how to delete the old one so if a moder. can thats cool.....

my 95 rs, wont turn all the way over. it just hesitates....it shut off in the middle of driving, after makin a clicking noise, which silenced when i engaged the clutch... i tested the battery starter and alternator...all is good...what more could i check, maybe some connections, or cables??? which ones, where are they located??... im starting to think that its maybe a mechanical problem??? i was on minimum oil and a small radiator leak..., i fixed both. when i engage the clutch , then start the car it will move about 6inches or so , but still wont turn all the way... help fellas and thanks for helping me so much all ready

Make sure your battery is charged good. Clean the battery terminals, the cables going to the starter, and any grounds you can find. If the car still wont turn over, then maybe your starter is dead.

Also how do you know your battery is good. Put a volt meter on the battery and note the voltage, have someone turn the key cranking the car and see what the voltage goes to.

If the battery test fine then maybe its the starter. Or you may want to try and turn the motor by hand to make sure its not locked up. I highly doubt it is but that would eliminate the possibility.

Put a socket on the crank bolt and turn clockwise.

Good idea J, what would cause it to lock though?

Never done the checking, I always just replaced them. But if I had to guess I would say pull one out a time and put the plug still connected to a metal surface and try starting it. If it sparks, then its good (anyone correct me if I'm wrong.) You don't want to shock the hell out of yourself though.
