Inoperative Trunk Release Button by left knee...papiichuulo 02-01-2008, 11:04 AM is apparently made inoperative by an ON/OFF switch in the glove box!! Who in the _____ thought of that one?? A switch to turn off another switch?? Toolman5523 02-02-2008, 10:53 PM That "switch to turn off another switch" is there to make the valet function inoperative. You keep your valuables locked in the trunk, as well as some very personal items in the glove box. You deactivate the the trunk release switch, and lock your glove box. Then when you go someplace that has valet parking, you had them the valet key (it's different than the other keys, and if you bought the car new it came with it) to park your vehicle. JoeShmoe 02-04-2008, 08:01 PM What year model was this feature in? Toolman5523 02-04-2008, 11:04 PM If it has a valet switch, then it has an "override switch". Whether it be in the glove box, or in the trunk. papiichuulo 02-05-2008, 03:48 PM What year model was this feature in? this particular one was an '06... JoeShmoe 02-05-2008, 05:59 PM this particular one was an '06...Never mind, mine is eleven years older than that one. LOL Toolman5523 02-06-2008, 11:34 PM Never mind, mine is eleven years older than that one. LOL Yours is in the trunk. JoeShmoe 02-07-2008, 09:59 AM Yours is in the trunk. I'll remeber that next time I abduct someone else, LOL. methodmix 02-12-2008, 08:16 PM Where in the trunk is it located? I think I may have a similar problem with my remote/keyless trunk release. The actuator makes a sound as if it's about to open the trunk, but it doesn't release the cable all the way. Could I have a bad actuator? Thanks! Yours is in the trunk. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
