95 Buick PA falls off at higher speeds

My 95 Park Ave has a noticeable miss and falls off when I attempt to accelerate after 45-50 mph. I replaced the crankshaft damper and the car sat about 1 year. There was a broken wire in the ignition key in the steering coloum. I have changed the fuel filter twice, ran all the gas out of the tank, put in gasoline additive, repalced the plugs, wires, and one coil bank. The check engine light came on and my mechanic said it was related to the EGR. He cleaned it and said the value returned to normal. HE also replaced the coil bank. It ran better for a few miles, but eventually returned to its previous condition. It does die completely, especially when I come off the highway or slow down after reaching 45-50. I do not have a code reader that will work with this car. It is a 95 with a 3.8 engine (no supercharger). Also the gauage that measures the voltage on the dash does not give a steady reading. It varies from 12v. to over 13 at times. I cleaned the battery posts. Didn't help.
Any ideas? Thanks in a davance for any help.

This sounds like the crank reference signal (CKPS), or ICM is going defunct. Did you change the CKPS when you changed the balancer? When the engine stalls, does your tach immediately drop to zero?

Thanks for the reply. I did not change the CKPS. Is it it difficult to replace? I have not noticed the tach fallingto zero when the engine stalls. The Air conditioner blows hot air when I first start out. But when I reach 45 or 50 and the engine begins to stall, the AC begins to blow really cold air again. Could these two things be related?
Thanks in adavance for any help.
