It's a 99 f150 5.4 w/ 109000 miles on it. Went to start this morning and it fires then dies right away. If I give it gas it will stay running but as soon as I let off it dies. By the way it is -15 degrees F with a windchill of around 30 below. Could this be the reason? I've never had trouble with it in cold weather before. Thanks for any feedback.

Extremely cold weather has an effect on everthing. Is your check engine light on? I've see many problems with Fords where the IAC (idle air control) valve/motor fails and will not allow the engine to idle. Yet, the car will start and run as long as the throttle is open. This condition will not necessarily set a trouble code, thus will not illuminate your "check engine light". This may be difficult to diagnose without proper info/wiring diagrams. Good luck, let me know if I can help further.
