every time i floor it and the rpms reach at about 4500 rpms, the car hesitates and chugs.it just started like 3 friggin' days ago. any hints or fix's. my repair manual said it could be vacuum leakage, fouled plugs, clogged fuel filter or injectors.even a tech said leakage! ????????????????????????? :crying::popcorn:

We cant help you unless we know what car you have.

If its turbo check for boost leaks.

If its NA then do a tune up and see if problem is still there.

Just do a tune up in general no matter what model.

I second the plugs and wires. I had a buddy with the same problem. We swapped his plugs and wires out and problem solved.

Mine has a heavy idle surge when at idle (duh!?) and it also hesitates like crazy at about 5k rpms also. I haven't done a boost leak test yet though, would that cause both of my problems? Also at idle I get a CEL until I just tap the gas and it goes away? I'm in the same boat as Jeremy.

I would do a boost leak test first. That should fix most, if not all of your problems.

I've seen some pretty nice boost leak testers on eBay, how hard are they to make? The bonus of buying one of the ones in the link is that you will always have one that does the job.

Will it work on a small 16G? The description says stock turbo.

i have found the problem, indeed the plugs were bad so i replaced them both.the cylinder number 2 plug was burned until the bar on top dissolved, dont guess the person i bought it from took very good care of it,some times i feel like judo chopping him in the neck for being careless, but thank you for your help everybody

I've searched on how to do a boost leak test and I've found so many different do's and dont's threads that I don't know what to do. I bought the Tester in the link that you see above but I haven't used it yet. What do I need to do to test if I have a boost leak? I know I need to put the one end on the turbo and then pressurize the pipe up to 15 psi or so. Now what do I need to plug and what do I need to unhook to this test. If someone could tell me step by step what to do I can do it.

EDIT: Found VFAQ, I will try to do the test tonight and post my results.

Alright did the boost leak test and found 2 good size leaks. One of them I think is the throttle body gasket and the other one is where the thermal vacuum valve is located, One of the nipples was broken right off!? So I looked into removing those lines anyway so the EGR Valve is already blocked so I can remove the lines without any issues. Heres a picture of the thermal vacuum valve when I did the test it was hissing like crazy so I pulled the vac line and half the thing fell off, there's suppose to be 2 of those long yellow guys.
