alright, from what ive read/seen 96-98 D16Y8 valvecovers dont have any insignia on them and they are just a silver metal but the 99-00 ones have the black valuce cover with SOHC VTEC insignia?

ok my dumb Q is if i take a 96-98 engine, would the 99-00 valvecover fit on it?

i think it should fit... its the same engine... the Y8 is a transmission code... not all 99-00 got the black valve cover... i know i have the insignia... but im sure my valve cover is not black...

y8 aint aint a tranny code it is the code for sohc vtec

Engine code= on engine
Tranny code= on tranny

ok, well what most of you are basically saying then is all D16 engines are exactly the same,
thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard

I have a 99 ex and the valve cover is black, but it doesnt say Vtec on it
